The Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA) conducted a GRC Renewable Energy Workshop on 18 March 2024 in Mzuzu, bringing together 75 participants from government institutions, renewable energy companies, financial institutions, academia, civil society organizations, and development partners.
The workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to exchange knowledge and identify practical solutions for expanding renewable energy access in Malawi. Key discussions focused on delivering renewable energy as a service to rural communities, improving sustainable business models for off-grid systems, strengthening collaboration between developers and government on mini-grid development, enhancing access to financing opportunities, and promoting gender equality within the energy sector.
The engagement strengthened stakeholder collaboration and supported ongoing efforts to develop bankable renewable energy projects, improve policy coordination, and advance inclusive energy access initiatives.
