With support from the German Solar Association (BSW), REIAMA Executive Director, Charles Dakalira, attended The smarter E Europe / Intersolar Europe Exhibition & Conference 2026 —Europe’s largest alliance of exhibitions for the energy industry—held from 23 to 25 June 2026 in Munich, Germany.
During the event, he participated in the Global Associations Workshop , where he highlighted Malawi’s vast potential as an emerging solar market, emphasizing the country’s progressive policy reforms, including the National Energy Policy and the Net Metering Framework, among other enabling regulations.

He encouraged international investors to establish operations in Malawi and partner with the local private players to support the Malawi Government in accelerating the development of mini-grids, Independent Power Producers (IPPs), and solar home systems, noting that each market segment serves distinct energy needs and presents significant investment opportunities.
In closing, he called on investors to support innovation and local manufacturing, stressing that Malawi has the potential to become a regional production and export hub for renewable energy technologies, rather than remaining primarily an importing nation.
