REIAMA Conducts Gender Capacity Building Trainings for Women Entrepreneurs and Energy Graduates

The Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA) implemented nationwide gender capacity building trainings aimed at strengthening entrepreneurship and financial management skills among women and youth in the renewable energy sector.

The trainings, delivered by Umodzi Consulting Limited under the Global Renewables Centre (GRC) Project, were held in Mzuzu (6 March 2025), Blantyre (11 March 2025), and Lilongwe (13 March 2025). The initiative supported 30 women entrepreneurs and 80 graduates drawn from Mzuzu University, Solar Energy and Ecology Institute, Lilongwe Technical College, and John Paul II Technical College.

Participants received practical training in business development, financial management, proposal writing, risk management, and access to finance opportunities. The program strengthened entrepreneurial confidence, improved financial literacy, and created a pipeline of renewable energy startups led by women and young professionals, contributing to inclusive growth within Malawi’s clean energy sector.
