The Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA), on the 10th of April, 2026, with support from EnDev Malawi, convened a Technical Working Group (TWG) meeting in Lilongwe to validate and adopt the Productive Use of Renewable Energy (PURE) Action Plans.
The meeting brought together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, and development partners, including UNDP, to strengthen collaboration and align efforts toward expanding access to climate-friendly energy solutions that drive economic growth and industrialization.
A key highlight was the presentation of consolidated stakeholder inputs, which clarified that the PURE Action Plan is a multi-stakeholder framework designed to guide coordinated interventions across sectors such as agriculture, industry, and finance. REIAMA emphasized its role in coordination, advocacy, and capacity building while encouraging broader stakeholder ownership in implementation.
Participants also proposed practical strategies to enhance impact, including stronger engagement with the Technical Working Group, participation in trade fairs to showcase renewable energy technologies, and improved visibility of member products through communication materials.
The meeting concluded with agreement on next steps, including finalizing the action plan with stakeholder input, aligning it with national priorities, and initiating pilot activities and quick-win interventions.
This milestone sets a strong foundation for accelerating the adoption of productive use of energy solutions in Malawi, reinforcing REIAMA’s commitment to driving sustainable development through clean energy.
