Sky Energy Africa has committed MWK 10 million towards the 2026 Malawi National Energy Conference (MNEC 2026), reinforcing the company’s support for industry collaboration and the development of Malawi’s energy sector.
The commitment was announced during a meeting between Hastings Golosi, Director of Business Development at Sky Energy Africa, and Charles Dakalira, Executive Director of the Renewable Energy Industries Association of Malawi (REIAMA).
MNEC 2026 is scheduled for 30 September to 2 October 2026 at Sunbird Livingstonia International Conference Centre (LICC) Salima, Malawi, under the theme “Powering Growth: Mainstreaming Energy Across All Sectors”.
Speaking during the meeting, Golosi said Sky Energy Africa decided to support the conference because of the important role it plays in bringing together different partners, investors and sectors.
The company operates at the intersection of electric mobility and renewable energy, and sees the conference as an opportunity to contribute to industry discussions while sharing its own experiences and challenges.
“We feel like this is a great opportunity for us to contribute, but also to share our journey, but also to share the challenges that we have.”
Golosi said the company’s support also reflects its commitment to REIAMA and its recognition of the value that the conference can create for participating businesses.
“For us, we come in to support. It shows that we care about the association, but also we know that this will help us even as a company.”
Strengthening connections across the energy sector
Responding to the sponsorship, REIAMA Executive Director Charles Dakalira said the contribution reinforces the Association’s role in creating a platform where different sectors and industry players can connect.
Dakalira noted that NEC is designed to bring together sector players and create connections that can develop into business opportunities and partnerships.
He described Sky Energy Africa’s MWK 10 million commitment as a significant demonstration of the company’s recognition of the conference’s relevance to the energy sector.
For REIAMA, the sponsorship also demonstrates the importance of private-sector participation in creating meaningful platforms for industry dialogue.
Dakalira encouraged stakeholders to make full use of the conference to develop connections and opportunities that extend beyond the event itself.
“Whatever that is going to be discussed or that will happen at the conference should actually bring fruits beyond our expectations both for the association as well as our partners including Sky Energy.”
